This means that they work by absorbing heat from the air outside and converting the energy into hot water.  This hot water can then be used for generating domestic hot water, or for space heating such as underfloor heating or radiator heating. Air source heat pumps are a cost effective alternative to fossil fuel boilers - eco-friendly heating and energy efficient heating system.

Often compared to Ground Source Heat Pumps, the Air Source Heat Pump option means using the energy in the air, instead of using the energy in the ground. The major advantage of Air Source is the simplicity of installation. There is no requirement to lay expensive underground pipework, or to dig deep bore holes, the units are simply mounted on the outside of the premesis. Installation costs are therefore considerably lower ensuring a much shorter payback period on the installation.
